Content Organizational Leadership module
The Organizational Leadership module consists of two two-day sessions. The module is based on recent theories and approaches in the fields of leadership, group dynamics, and change management. Throughout the course, we draw connections to the participants’ professional experiences and their own case studies. At the end of the module, participants have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a practical simulation.
Program block 1
We will devote the first two days to exploring the people-oriented side of organizational leadership, delving deeply into the crucial aspects of the undercurrent that form the foundation of organizational success. On the first day, we’ll dive into the most significant challenges you’re currently facing, and you’ll see that the core of these challenges often lies in effectively managing the undercurrent: organizational culture, collective sentiment, emotions, and group dynamics. We’ll provide you with concrete tools to get started and offer exercises to strengthen your skills. On day two, we’ll focus on the sensitive topics currently at play in organizations: diversity, inclusion, psychological safety, social safety, and power. Through a combination of theory and practice, you’ll learn about the various aspects of these topics and what you need to consider if you want to address them effectively.
Program block 2
The following two-day session focuses on the task-oriented aspect of organizational leadership, with a strong emphasis on change management. On the first day, we will explore various strategies for motivating a group of managers and employees, while also addressing cultural differences and how to deal with them constructively. The second day is dedicated to a change simulation exercise. Participants will tackle a change assignment and must continuously consider customer satisfaction, progress in the change process, and employee buy-in. Participants will learn to realistically weigh the pros and cons of different interventions and experience the effects of their choices. We will reflect extensively on the insights gained from the game and draw lessons for application in your own work.
The Academic Director
'When a leader grows, everyone reaps the benefits. Employees are treated and managed more effectively. Teams collaborate more effectively. The department’s activities are better aligned with the organization’s goals. And the organization gains a clearer mission and focus, which also benefits society. With this conviction in mind, we have carefully designed the program. We first focus on your unique background, strengths, and challenges as a leader. From that starting point, we examine how your leadership extends to other employees, the team, the organization, and societal developments. The combination of academic content and skills training ensures that you are challenged both theoretically and practically, enabling you to take your leadership to the next level. I warmly welcome you to join this journey of development under the guidance of our top faculty and alongside other talented leaders.'
