Why choose this program?
Analyze, design and improve logistics networks based on data, strategy and social preconditions
This module is designed to enable you to analyze, design, and improve logistics networks based on data, strategy, and societal constraints. You will work on the following learning objectives:
Understanding service-oriented networks: You will understand the structure and operation of logistics networks, from first mile to last mile, including hubs, terminals, and routes.
Systematically analyzing design decisions: You will examine choices regarding locations, capacity allocation, routing, and modal mix in a structured manner.
Modeling with network tools: You will learn to model and assess logistics design issues using tools such as TAP, TSP, VRP, and multi-commodity flow models.
Substantiating the impact of design choices: You will explicitly weigh the effects of design choices on service, costs, sustainability, and flexibility.
From design to operations: You will translate design principles to your own context and connect the dots between the network level and operational feasibility.
Collaboration in networks: You will recognize collaboration issues in networks (for example, in bundling or urban logistics) and explore possible solutions.
What will the program bring you?

Measurable performance improvements: improved service, reduced costs, and lower CO₂ emissions.

Stronger decision-making: from data and models to clear design choices for your network.

Directly applicable improvement options: well-founded scenarios and network concepts that you can use in your own organization.

Professional growth: a more robust discussion partner for management and operations in strategic supply chain decisions.
What makes this master module unique?
- Impact in 6 weeks: The mix of an online kick-off, three on-campus days, focused self-study, and working on your own case study will provide insights you can immediately apply in your work environment.
- Academic & recognized: 4 ECTS as a microcredential with a digital badge; part of an accredited master's degree and stackable if you wish to continue your studies.
- Top lecturers from both academia and practice: TIAS professors and experienced experts from the field combine analytical depth with realistic cases, so that theory and practice reinforce each other.
- Blended & small-scale: intensive guidance and peer dialogue in a small group; what you explore online, you bring to life on-campus with cases and simulations.
