Smart choices for tomorrow's logistics networks

Smart choices for tomorrow's logistics networks

Logistics networks need to do more than just move goods. They must perform at speed, scalability, sustainability, and reliability, while customer expectations rise, urban space is under pressure, and supply chain collaboration becomes more complex.

In the Supply Chain Design and Operations Master Module, you will delve into the design of service-oriented logistics networks. You will connect strategic choices regarding locations, capacity, bundling, and modality mix with the operational realities of routing, time windows, and utilization. You will consider the entire playing field: from first mile to last mile, including hubs, terminals, and urban distribution.

Using practical cases and tools such as TAP, TSP, VRP, and multi-commodity flow models, you will analyze various network variants. You will explore how design choices impact service levels, lead times, costs, CO₂ emissions, and risk in diverse contexts, such as retail, construction, or healthcare.

This module provides you with analytical insights, design principles, and practical tools to make informed network decisions. You will apply the concepts directly to your own organization and develop concrete improvement directions to make the network you're part of more future-proof.
