From AI hype to realistic value creation
AI is high on the agenda for executives, consultants, and vendors. Use cases, demos, and promises of acceleration and cost reduction follow one another rapidly, while the key question remains: where does this actually deliver value in practice, and under what conditions? Without a clear framework, organizations risk either becoming paralyzed by complexity or jumping into pilots and experiments without a view on structural value creation.
In the master module Realism in AI, you explore what AI can realistically mean for your organization today. You examine concrete applications in analytics, prediction, automation, and decision support, and explore how these interventions impact decision-making, processes, business models, and customer experience. AI is approached not as a technological gadget, but as a strategic lever that must be carefully positioned within the broader organizational and data infrastructure.
You analyze cases of organizations that have applied AI successfully—and less successfully—and uncover which choices in governance, data quality, ethics, vendor collaboration, and team structure were decisive. This allows you to develop a practical, well-founded perspective on AI: you learn to distinguish hype, trends, and proven value, and you build the language and frameworks needed to have sharper conversations with executives, management, and specialists.
By the end of the module, you translate the insights into your own practice. You develop a concrete action plan for your organization, including strategic priorities and a realistic implementation approach. This way, you leave the module not only with a deeper understanding of AI but, more importantly, with a clear view of what you should—and should not—do to deploy AI effectively and responsibly.
This master module is bilingual: the language of instruction (Dutch or English) is determined per edition based on the composition of the group.
