Sustainable Supply Chain Management
From sustainable ambition to concrete supply chain transformation in your organization in 6 weeks.
In this module, you’ll delve into making supply chains more sustainable – from strategic insights into ESG and CSRD to circular strategies and sustainable transformation in practice. You’ll explore how the three dimensions of sustainability – People, Planet, and Prosperity – impact supply chain decisions, and what this requires in terms of design, collaboration, and change management. The learning journey is structured around the simulation “The Triple Connection,” which serves as a common thread throughout all three days. Each day builds on the previous one: from strategic insight to circular thinking to implementation. Theory, real-world case studies, and hands-on workshops are consistently linked to your own organizational context.
Online kick-off
During the online kickoff, you’ll meet the instructors and fellow participants and receive an overview of the program structure and the final assignment. You’ll explore your learning objectives, case study, and expectations so that you can get right to work during the on-campus days.
Day 2 – From linear to circular thinking
Day 2 is all about circular thinking and action. You’ll be introduced to models such as the 10R framework and the Value Hill, and apply them in hands-on workshops. In the deconstruction workshop, you’ll examine product designs for circularity and explore how circular strategies work at the system level.
Day 3 – Sustainable transformation in practice
Day 3 focuses on realizing sustainable transitions. You’ll conclude The Triple Connection and apply the lessons learned to your own practice. In an interactive workshop, you’ll work on a concrete transition plan, with a focus on leadership, cross-departmental collaboration, and behavioral change.
Further study between class sessions
Between and after class sessions, you will continue to work independently on readings, assignments, and your own case study. You will apply insights from the lectures to your supply chain, further develop sustainability scenarios, and prepare for the final assignment.
Assessment based on your own practice
You will complete the master module with a graded assignment that directly relates to your work environment and learning objectives. In this assignment, you will demonstrate your ability to analyze sustainability issues in the supply chain, justify circular and strategic choices, and formulate a transition plan for your organization.
